About.com has tested an inexpensive digital camera from Casio. The camera is called Casio Exilim EX-Z16 and some interesting features like 12 megapixels and a widescreen video recording mode. Let us hear if the reviewer finds the camera to be any good.

About.com ends up giving the Casio Exilim EX-Z16 a total score of 3.5 stars out of 5 possible. On the positive we find aspects such as thin and stylish camera body design, the Z16 is easy to use, good image quality and the flash works well. There are some negative points too and they include poor focus in low light conditions, short zoom range, the flash sometimes washes out your photos and a bit of shutter lag in dark conditions. If you are a beginner to photography the Exilim EX-Z16 might be your choice especially if you are looking to use less than $100.

Imaging Resource has tested a digital camera from Sony. The Sony camera is called Sony Cyber-shot WX5 digital camera and features over 12 megapixels in addition to a wide angle zoom lens that starts at a nice 24mm and ends up at 120mm.

Some key features for the Sony Cyber-shot WX5:
-12.2 megapixel image sensor
-5x optical zoom lens (24-120mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-2.8″ LCD screen
-ISO sensitivity 125-3200
-Full HD 1080/60i AVCHD movies
-3D Sweep Panorama

Imaging Resource ends up giving the Sony Cyber-shot WX5 a good review as the camera is pretty good compared to other cameras in this class. On the positive side we find aspects such as a bright zoom lens, optical image stabilization, good colors, autofocus works fine and the 3D Sweep Panorama mode is nice. There are a few points that hinders the WX5 from getting a top score and they are blurry shots under some conditions and a bit heavy noise reduction. Over the Cyber-shot WX5 is a very good compact, but Sony should work on the blurry shots cause be the image stabilization.

About.com has reviewed a digital camera from Samsung. The Samsung camera is called Samsung ST80 and some interesting features like wireless connectivity and a sensor with over 14 megapixels.

Some key features for the Samsung ST80:
-14.2 megapixel image sensor
-3x optical zoom lens (35-105mm)
-3″ LCD screen with touchscreen abilities
-Wireless connectivity
-HD movie mode
-Uses microSD memory cards

About.com ends up giving the Samsung ST80 an overall score of 3 out of 5 possible stars. On the positive side we find aspects such as touchscreen on a budget camera (usually found on more expensive models), good camera performance when photographing outdoors and thin size. On the negative side the reviewer finds a few points like not much of a zoom range and lens moves slowly, poor indoor photography, the touchscreen can be hard to use and you have to charge the batteries within the camera.

About.com has tested a beginner level camera from Kodak. The camera is called Kodak EasyShare M590 and features like a button that lets you automatically upload your photos to social networks (Facebook, Flickr, Orkut, etc).

-Image stabilization
-2.7″ LCD screen
-Face Recognition feature
-One-button upload to e-mail and social network sites

About.com ends up giving the Kodak EasyShare M590 a total score of 3 out of 5 possible stars. On the positive side reviewer finds the M590 to have nice image quality for its class, good button design, enjoyable body design and the LCD screen is good. On the negative side we find aspects such as slow autofocus, poor flash, slow menu system and small LCD screen. If the camera had been a bit faster to use it would have get a higher score. Let us hope Kodak works on this for their next camera in this series.
