CNET UK has reviewed the Panasonic HDC-TM700 HD camcorder. This camcorder from Panasonic is pretty expensive so it is not for all videographers, but for those of use that can afford it is interesting to see what kind of quality the camcorder brings us.

Some key features for the Panasonic HDC-TM700:
-1080p HD recording
-Touchscreen
-Able to take 14.2 megapixel pictures
-12x optical zoom (35-420mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-32GB internal memory
-Weighs 380g

CNET UK ends up giving the Panasonic HDC-TM700 HD a very good review with an overall score of 8.0 out of 10 points. The reviewer finds the TM700 to take stunning movies, has very good still photos compared to other camcorders and has nice features like manual zoom and a focus ring. What the reviewer do not like is that the HD camcorder is quite expensive and that the playback of large high quality video files can be too much for even top shelf computers.

Camcorder Info has reviewed the Panasonic AG-HMC40 professional AVCHD camcorder. This expensive camcorder from Panasonic features 12x optical zoom and is able to take still photographs at 10.6 megapixels.

Some key features for the Panasonic AG-HMC40 camcorder:
-Records HD movies up to 1080/60i resolution
-2.7″ touchscreen display
-Professional AVCHD camcorder
-Records to SD/SDHC memory cards
-12x optical zoom lens
-Still photos up to 10.6 megapixels

Camcorder Info ends up giving the Panasonic AG-HMC40 a pretty average review as it seems like it is a beefed up version of the much cheaper Panasonic HDC-TM300, but costs $1000 more and there aren’t that many features that justifies the high price tag. There are some positive points to the Panasonic AG-HMC40 like the compact size for a professional camcorder and low price compared to other professional camcorders, but there might be other camcorders out there that better suit your needs.
