CNET UK has reviewed a digital camera called Olympus FE-5050. This entry level compact camera from Olympus has plenty of megapixels and a nice zoom range starting at 26mm. The camera also has features such as magic filters and iAuto mode which should fit beginners to the world of photography.

There are several positive points to the camera including a low price tag, compact size, high resolution, magic filters and robust construction. But there are also some shortcomings like not so top of the line image quality and you get no hand grip. The 5050 has some nice features, but there are other camera on the market that might be better.

The Olympus camera scores highest on build quality where it gets 10 out of 10, a little lower on image quality and value for your money while scoring lowest on features. If you have a life with a lot of outdoor activity and need a rugged digital camera the 6020 might be your choice. The only downsides are that the Olympus camera is a bit slow and some noise at higher ISO levels, but other than that this is a good camera especially if you look at the price tag.

SLR Gear has reviewed the new superzoom lens from Olympus for the Micro Four Thirds system. The lens is called Olympus 14-150mm f/4-5.6 ED M.Zuiko Digital and feature lightweight single-element internal focus units for quieter and more responsive autofocus. The focal length equals 28-300mm in the 35mm format. The lens is designed to fit the Micro Four Thirds system perfectly so let us hear what the reviewer at SLR Gear finds out about the lens.

SLR Gear ends up giving the Olympus 14-150mm f/4-5.6 ED M.Zuiko Digital a good review and they even say that the lens is very good, but it has a few shortcomings (like most superzoom lenses) like high chromatic aberrations at some focal lengths. The Olympus lens is not the sharpest lens that is ever produced but for a superzoom lens it is pretty sharp. If you are looking for a good walk-around lens for your Micro Four Thirds camera this Olympus lens might be your choice.

The 9010 scores highest on design and image quality while scoring a little lower on value for your money, features and ease of use. It is a good camera, but I hope Olympus will do an even better job with their future compact cameras like making easier menu systems.
