Rollei are celebrating their 90th anniversary with a new digital camera. The Rollei camera is called Rollei Compactline 390SE and features nice features such as 14 megapixels, HD video and a wide angle zoom lens with 5x optical zoom.

Some key features for the Rollei Compactline 390SE:
-14 megapixel image sensor
-5x optical zoom lens (26-130mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-Replacement battery
-HD video with 1280×720 pixels quality at 30 frames per second
-Panoramic stitch mode

The Rollei Compactline 390SE digital camera will be released on the market in October 2010 and cost about €149.95.

Press release:
As you probably already know, Rollei is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. It is therefore using the occasion to introduce an anniversary edition of its Compactline 390 SE. This 14-megapixel camera is equipped with a 5x optical zoom and comes with an attractive leather case, a replacement battery and a 1GB SD card. That’s not the only reason to celebrate, however, as the camera also comes with a 26-mm wide-angle lens and new panorama function. Thanks to the PanCapture feature, panorama shots are now even easier to take: the correct position and order of the images are automatically captured and joined together in real-time, and the optical image stabiliser ensures that nothing is blurred. Even those moments that you would rather capture with moving pictures are not a problem. The Compactline 390 SE can record brilliantly sharp videos, thanks to an HD resolution of 1280×720 and 30 images per second

The compact camera will be introduced for the first time at this year’s IFA and Photokina 2010, and will be available from specialist retailers from the end of October in stylish black or silver. The Compactline 390 SE anniversary edition will cost 149.95 Euros (RRP).

Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP

PC Mag has reviewed a waterproof camera from Fujifilm. The camera is called Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP and is able to take pictures down to depths at 3 meters for two hours. Let us hear what the reviewer thinks about this cheap Fujifilm camera.

Some key features for the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP:
-Waterproof down to 3 meters for two hours
-10 megapixel image sensor
-3x optical zoom lens
-2.7″ LCD screen
-50 MB built-in memory
-Uses SD and SDHC memory cards

PC Mag ends up giving the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP a pretty poor review with an overall score of 2 out of 5 possible stars and a “Fair” rating. On the positive side we find the camera to be the cheapest underwater camera and yeah it is positive that it is able to take pictures under water. On the negative side we find aspects with the Fujifilm camera such as poor image quality, no optical image stabilization and the LCD can be hard to see when it is sunny. If you are looking for an underwater digital camera it might be worth shelling out some extra money so you can actually get good pictures.

Casio EX-FH25

Photography Blog has fast become one of my favorite websites for camera reviews. This time they have reviewed a Casio camera called Casio EX-FH25 that has some very nice features such a back-lit image sensor and 20x optical zoom range that is pretty wide at the widest end of the range.

Some key features for the Casio EX-FH25:
-10.1 megapixel image sensor
-20x optical zoom lens (26-520mm)
-Image stabilization
-3″ LCD screen
-86MB built in memory
-30 frames per second continuous shooting
-High-speed film recording up to 1000fps

Photography Blog ends up giving the Casio EX-FH25 a “Above Average” rating with a total score of 3.5 stars out of 5 possible. The Casio camera scores highest on ease of use and image quality, scoring a little lower on design and features while scoring lowest on value for your money. The FH25 is a good camera, but it comes with a price tag so if you do not need high-speed video recording and extremely high FPS maybe you should try out other cameras in the same class but with a lower price.

Camera Labs has reviewed a budget compact camera from Nikon called Nikon COOLPIX L22. This Nikon camera comes at a very low price but comes with nice specifications such as 12 megapixels, a large 3″ LCD screen and video recording mode.

Some key features for the Nikon COOLPIX L22:
-12.1 megapixel image sensor
-3.6x optical zoom lens (37-134mm)
-3.0″ LCD screen
-Able to capture 640 x 480 movies with sound at 30fps
-Image stabilization
-Smart Portrait System

Camera Labs ends up giving the Nikon COOLPIX L22 a “Recommended” rating with an overall score at 82%. The Nikon camera scores highest on value for your money, a little lower on specifications and build quality while scoring lowest on image quality and handling. Since the camera comes at a very low price tag it gets a lot of bonus points for being affordable, but there are some downsides like poor performance in low lights, the stabilization is not working very well and the face detection does not always work. If you are looking for a cheap compact camera the L22 might be your choice.
