PC Magazine has tested the Polaroid CZA-05300B PoGo Instant digital camera. This Polaroid camera is able to make instant prints in about 60 seconds. Sounds like a pretty cool idea so let us see what the reviewer thinks about the camera.

Some key features for the Polaroid CZA-05300B PoGo:
-Digital camera with integrated printer
-Prints 2 x 3-inch borderless color images
-Print speed: 60 seconds per print
-3″ LCD screen
-5 megapixel image sensor

PC Magazine ends up giving the Polaroid camera a pretty good rating with 4 out 5 points. The reviewer likes the coolness of the camera and the ability that you are able to print right away. There are of course some shortcomings like that the camera only can hold 4 pictures at maximum resolution and the battery life could be longer. Overall the Polaroid PoGo looks like a cool gadget.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 test / review by Imaging Resource – small pocket zoom camera

Imaging Resource has reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 compact digital camera. This a small pocket-able camera with a long 12x zoom lens that seems like an interesting carry around camera.

Some key features for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1:
-10.1 megapixel sensor
-12x optical zoom (25 – 300mm)
-2.7″ LCD screen
-Optical image stabilization
-Face detection
-Ability to record 720p HD movies

Imaging Resource ends up giving the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 a “Dave’s Pick” award as the camera has a very usable zoom range (25 – 300mm), the optical image stabilization works well, high FPS and it is able to produce pictures of good quality. One downside is a bit soft corners in pictures taken at the wide side of the zoom range and some ISO noise.
Overall the DMC-ZS1 seems like a very good superzoom camera that can fit in your pocket.

Olympus mju TOUGH-6010 test / review by CNET UK – rugged compact camera

CNET UK has reviewed the Olympus mju TOUGH-6010 digital compact camera. This rugged Olympus camera can handle depths down to 3 meters and is also shockproof in addition to having the so-called Art filters.

-12 megapixel sensor
-3.6x optical zoom lens (28-102mm)
-2.7″ LCD screen with Tap Control
-image stabilization
-magic filters
-waterproof down to 3 meters
-shockproof up to 1.5 meters
-freeze proof to -10 degrees Celsius

CNET UK ends up giving the Olympus mju TOUGH-6010 a mediocre 6.1 out of 10 score. The reason for this score is as the lens produces unsharp pictures at the edges. The noise reduction software from Olympus is a bit overactive making the pictures smothered. On the positive side the reviewer likes the design of the camera and the zoom range is useful.

CNET UK has reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 compact digital camera. This camera feature an impressive 8x optical zoom in a small camera body and 12.1 megapixels.

-8x optical zoom lens (25-200mm)
-2.7″ LCD screen
-Optical image stabilization
-ISO sensitivity from 80 to 6400
-40MB built-in memory

CNET UK ends up giving the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX1 a very good review where the camera scores 9.0 out of 10 points. The reviewer likes the useful zoom range, the excellent quality of the lens and good build quality. The only downside is that Panasonic has used too much noise reduction software at all ISO levels. Seems like a nice little camera for casual photographers.
