Digitalcamerareview.com has reviewed the Olympus Zuiko 14-35mm (equivalent to 28mm to 70mm) f/2.0 Digital ED SWD lens. This is the first standard zoom lens that features a constant f/2.0 aperture. At about $2,600 this lens is part of Olympus’ Super High Grade (SHG) range of professional lenses with, among other features, weather sealing, SWD (Supersonic Wave Drive) focusing system and high quality optics.

Digitalcamerareview.com ends up giving the Olympus Zuiko 14-35mm lens, unsurprisingly, a very good rating due to the lens’ excellent image quality, silky smooth and silent focusing motor and sharp wide open. The small cons are of course the hefty price and pretty bulky size of the lens.
Seems like an excellent lens for professional Four Thirds photographers.

PopPhoto has reviewed the new interesting compact camera from Sigma called DP1. What is interesting about this camera is that Sigma has put DSLR type sensor in a compact camera.
Some key features for the Sigma DP1:
-Foveon 14 megapixel X3 sensor
-16.6 mm F4.0 lens (28mm equivalent)
-2.5” LCD screen
-Support for RAW files

PopPhoto ends up giving the camera a very good review due to the excellent image quality the DP1 is able to produce, even up to ISO 800. The lens quality is also very good and the design looks stylish.
On the downside the auto focus system could have been faster, there is not image stabilization and a zoom lens would be nice.
All in all this seems like a very good camera for the more professional photographers (the DP1 costs $800) out there looking for a compact camera.

-10X optical zoom lens from Carl Zeiss (38-380mm equivalent)
-3″ LCD screen

Dpreview ends up giving the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 a “Recommended (just)” rating due to good image quality, good zoom range, good movie quality and compact size.
On the downside the camera doesn’t have any real wide angle which can be a minus for landscape photography and there is no option for setting the white balance manually.
