Printer Comparison has reviewed the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One printer. This inkjet printer has many functions (print, scan, copy, fax and photo) and a stylish design so it will be interesting to see how the printer performs.

Some key features for the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One printer:
-5-in-1 device: print, scan, copy, fax, photo
-2.4″ color LCD screen
-print speeds: up to 33 ppm black, 32 ppm color
-fax transmission speed: 3 seconds per page
-print resolution: up to 9600 x 2400 dpi color, 600 x 600 dpi black
-full duplexing

Printer Comparison ends up giving the HP Photosmart Premium printer a “Editor’s Choice” rating as the printer is able to make very good photo and text prints, it has very useful features and has a good control system. The only downsides are that the printer use a bit much ink and that draft speeds are slower than HP claims them to be.
Overall the HP Photosmart Premium seems like a very interesting printer if you need the print, scan, copy, fax and photo printing abilities.

Sigma DP2 preview pictures taken by Dpreview – ISO 100 to 800

Dpreview has posted some interesting sample pictures taken with the Sigma DP2 Foveon camera. They have tested ISO sensitivities from 100 to 800, and also tested different color modes and pictures of different subjects.

Some key features for the Sigma DP2:
-14 megapixel Foveon sensor
-2.5″ LCD screen
-41mm f/2.8 lens
-ISO sensitivity from 50 to 1600
-weight 260 grams

Canon PowerShot D10 test / review by Photography Blog – waterproof to 10 meters

Photography Blog has reviewed the though Canon PowerShot D10 compact digital camera. This camera is able to withstand depths of 10 meters and lots of other rough features. Combined with a 12 megapixel sensor and a 3″ LCD screen this could be a winner camera for outdoor photographers.

-12.1 megapixel sensor
-3x optical zoom lens (35 – 105mm)

Photography Blog ends up giving the Canon PowerShot D10 a 4 out 5 stars rating. The camera got the usual Canon quality and is able to take good pictures.
The only downsides are a smallish LCD screen and bit short zoom range, but over all this seems like a good outdoor compact camera.

Nik Software announces Sharpener Pro 3.0 plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.3 and higher

Sharpening in Lightroom can be a bit of a struggle so it is nice to see a plug-in that give you good sharpening techniques. The plug-in comes from a company called Nik Software that has developed their Sharpener Pro 3.0 plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.3 and higher.

The program costs about $200, but the plug-in is free for existing registered users and can be downloaded from their website.
