The German testing website Photozone has tested the standard zoom lens Pentax 17-70mm f/4 DA SMC AL IF SDM on a Pentax K-10 DSLR camera body. Pentax has an impressive number of standard zoom lenses and the Pentax 17-70mm f/4 DA SMC AL IF SDM lens is their fifth. This lens have an interesting range and good price at about $499.

Photozone ends up giving the Pentax 17-70mm f/4 DA SMC AL IF SDM lens a pretty good verdict as the lens has very good resolution. The vignetting and distortion is about average for the lens, and there is not much chromatic aberration. The build quality of the Pentax lens is very good and so is the auto focus.

The German review site Photozone has tested Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar ZA T* 24-70mm f/2.8 SSM (SAL-2470Z) lens. This Sony lens seems to be designed for the new fullformat DSLR, but it also works with the existing APS-C DSLRs. On APS-C DSLRs the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens will have a field-of-view equivalent of 36-105mm.

Photozone ends up giving the Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar ZA T* 24-70mm f/2.8 SSM lens a very good review as the lens does not produce any vignetting or distortion (on APS-C DSLRs).
The only downsides for this lens is some poor bokeh at 70mm f/2.8 and some flare.
Overall it seems like an excellent lens from Sony.

Photozone.de has reviewed the only ultra-wide angle lens from Sony, the Sony DT 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 SAL-1118. Although it says Sony on the lens it is really a modified Tamron 11-18mm lens.
Photozone.de give the lens a pretty poor review as the lens suffer from heavy distortion at 11mm and recommends looking at the alternatives from Sigma if you are interested in an ultra-wide lens for Sony DSLRs.
