Ricoh CX1

One of my favorite camera reviewing websites, dpreview, has posted 30 sample pictures taken with the Ricoh CX1 compact camera. It is interesting to see how new dynamic range double shot mode works out.

Some key features for the Ricoh CX1:
-Dynamic range double shot mode
-9 megapixel sensor
-3″ LCD screen
-7.1x optical zoom lens (28-200 mm)
-4 frames per second continuous shooting

See all the 30 sample pictures taken with the Ricoh CX1 here. Most pictures seem to be taken at ISO 80.

Samsung ES55

The reviewing site Buy-n-Shoot has tested the Samsung ES55 camera. This budget camera seem to offer quite a deal for the money with a 10 megapixel image sensor.

Some key features for the Samsung ES55:
-10.2 megapixel sensor
-3x optical zoom lens
-2.5″ LCD screen
-digital image stabilization
-face detection
-640×520 VGA movie mode

Buy-n-Shoot ends up giving the Samsung ES55 camera a “Gold medal” score as the camera has a lot of features for a nice price. There are some minor downsides like noise at higher ISO levels but you can’t expect too much from a cheap compact camera.

Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR

Lets Go Digital has reviewed the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR compact digital camera. The Fujifilm camera is the first camera with the new Super CCD EXR image sensor. Supposedly this sensor gives you more dynamic range, less ISO noise and better resolution so it will be interesting to see if the image sensor is able to live up the hype.

Some key features for the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR:
-12 megapixel Super CCD EXR image sensor
-5x optical zoom lens (28-140mm)
-Image stabilization
-3″ LCD screen
-Manual controls

Lets Go Digital ends up giving the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR a “80% Recommended” rating. The digital camera from Fujifilm is able to take pictures of high quality, but the reviewing website is not certain if the new sensor helps or not.
The F200EXR does not get a top score because it does not really stand out from all the other compacts on the marked, but it is still a good digital camera that they recommend.

Sigma DP2

Dpreview has posted some interesting sample pictures taken with the Sigma DP2 Foveon camera. They have tested ISO sensitivities from 100 to 800, and also tested different color modes and pictures of different subjects.

Some key features for the Sigma DP2:
-14 megapixel Foveon sensor
-2.5″ LCD screen
-41mm f/2.8 lens
-ISO sensitivity from 50 to 1600
-weight 260 grams
