Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35

Imaging Resource has reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 compact digital camera. This Panasonic camera feature 18x optical zoom and 12.1 megapixels. With so much zoom and megapixels this seems like a nice super-zoom camera.

Imaging Resource ends up giving the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 a “Dave’s Pick” award as the camera is able to take pictures of very good quality. It has a useful zoom range and the video function is also good. The camera has RAW support and full manual controls which are big pluses. The only downside is some noise at higher ISO levels.

Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1

Photography Blog is very early with a review of the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 compact digital camera. This is the first camera that lets you view 3D images and you don’t need any 3D-glasses or similar equipment. It will interesting to see if this really works or is just a PR-stunt from Fujifilm.

Photography Blog ends up giving the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 a “Recommended” 4 out 5 stars rating. The reviewer find it to be a niche camera so if you are interested in stereo photography you should definitely check the Real 3D W1 out. But as a regular digital camera it scores a little low because of noisy images and lack of features. I want anyway give kudos to Fujifilm for going in a new direction.

Pentax Optio W80

Photography Blog has reviewed the Pentax Optio W80 compact digital camera. The W80 feature a 12.1 megapixel sensor and weather resistant features like water proof down to 5 meters and freeze proof to -10°C.

Photography Blog ends up giving the Pentax Optio W80 a “Recommended” 4 out 5 star rating. It scores high on features and design, but lower on image quality as the camera produces noise even at ISO 100 and no zoom while shooting video.

Pentax has announced a new compact digital camera called Pentax Optio M85. The M85 is a stylish compact with a metal body (but is still light weight) and 12 megapixels.

The Pentax Optio M85 will be launched in October 2009.
