Nikon Coolpix P100

Neo Camera has reviewed a new digital camera from Nikon. The camera is called Nikon Coolpix P100 and feature an impressive 26x optical zoom lens in addition to the ability to record HD movies at 1920×1080 @ 30 FPS.

Neo Camera ends up giving the Nikon Coolpix P100 an overall rating called “Good”. The reviewer find the camera to have several positive points including very good video quality, excellent white balance, good build quality and the continuous shooting is best in its class. On the downside they find some over exposure, lower image quality at higher ISO levels and some vignetting and corner softness. The P100 seems to be a good camera with awesome zoom range, but it has a few shortcomings. If you can live with them this superzoom might be your choice.

Canon PowerShot SX210 IS

Photography Blog has reviewed a new compact digital camera from Canon called Canon PowerShot SX210 IS. This camera has some impressive specifications with 14x wide angle optical zoom and 14 megapixels.

The camera scores highest on design, features, image quality and ease of use while scoring a bit lower on value. Overall this seems like a good travel camera with many good qualities. If you can live with the high price tag the SX210 IS might be a good option.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S2100

Digital Camera Review has tested the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S2100 digital camera. This budget camera from Sony sports 12 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and a large 3″ LCD screen.

-3x optical zoom lens (35-105mm)
-3″ LCD screen
-Uses SD and SDHC memory cards (and Memory Stick Pro Duo cards)
-Able to shoot 640×480 video at 30 fps

Digital Camera Review ends up giving the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S2100 an overall score of 3.5 stars out 5. The camera scores highest on features while scoring a bit lower on video and image quality. The reviewer finds the S2100 to produce good images in good light, but when you use lower ISO values the image quality is pretty poor. The reviewer also miss image stabilization and does find the buttons to be a bit small. Overall this seems like a good camera at a low price, but you can expect wonders from a camera costing around $100.

CNET UK has reviewed the Canon Digital IXUS 105 IS digital camera (also known as Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS in some markets). The IXUS 105 feature a stylish camera body, 12 megapixels and a wide angle zoom lens.

CNET UK ends up giving the Canon Digital IXUS 105 IS an ok review with an overall score of 6.8 points out of 10. The reviewer finds the camera to have a great design, good controls and a useful zoom range. On the negative side they find it to have a high price tag compared to what you get and the picture quality is not top of the line. If you are after a camera that looks really good the IXUS 105 might be the camera you are looking for.
