Canon PowerShot A2100 IS

Lets Go Digital has reviewed the Canon PowerShot A2100 IS compact digital camera. The camera feature a 12.1 megapixel sensor and 6x optical zoom so it should have good enough features for most photographers.

Lets Go Digital ends up giving the Canon PowerShot A2100 IS a 77% “Recommended” rating. The A2100 has not changed much from the previous model except for increased amount of megapixels, but it is a nice camera that can be fun to use, but the image quality could be better.

Canon EOS 500D, Canon Rebel T1i

Digital Camera Resource Page has reviewed the new DSLR camera from Canon. The camera is called Canon EOS 500D (also known asRebel T1i in North America and Kiss X3 in Japan) and features an impressive 15 megapixels and video recording.

Some key features for the Canon EOS 500D:
-15 megapixel sensor
-1080p HD video recording at 20fps
-3″ LCD screen with 920,000 dot resolution
-ISO sensitivity up to 12800
-HDMI output

Digital Camera Resource Page ends up giving the Canon EOS 500D a good review as the camera is able to take pictures of high quality even at higher ISO levels. The large LCD screen is also great with its high resolution and the camera has a lot of nice features.
The reviewer wasn’t too fond of how the camera felt, but that is very individual. The movie mode is also a bit lacking with only 20fps when you record HD movies and there is no auto focus while recording video (a function the Panasonic GH1 have).
Overall you can’t go wrong by purchasing the 500D, but there are other good competitor cameras on the marked that you also might want to check out.

Canon PowerShot D10

Dpreview has tested five different compact cameras that are waterproof and can be used under water. The cameras tested are Canon PowerShot D10, Fuji FinePix Z33WP, Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 (known as mju Tough 8000 in Europe), Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 (known as mju Tough 6000 in Europe) and Pentax Optio W60.

As image quality is really the most important factor when it comes to cameras Dpreview think that the Canon PowerShot D10 and Pentax Optio W60 are the best choices.
The Canon PowerShot D10 even gets a highly recommended rating from Dpreview as the camera produces the best pictures and has the best features.

Canon EOS 1000D DSLR camera

There has been rumors circulating the internet about a new budget DSLR camera from Canon. The camera is to be called Canon EOS 1000D / T1 and feautes a 15.1 megapixel image sensor and 7 autofoucs points. Not the most exciting features but seems like a very good budget DSLR camera.

-3 fps
-ISO sensitivity 100 to 3200
-3″ ClearView LCD (Not Articulating) screen
-720P Video (30fps & 24fps) NO 1080p

It remains to be seen if these Canon EOS 1000D / T1 rumors are true or not. The rumor says that Canon will make an announcement this Tuesday (June 30th).
