Photography Blog has tested the Canon PowerShot A3100 IS digital camera. This compact from Canon is supposed to replace the A2100 as a budget camera that is still top of the range. It remains to be seen if the camera is any good.

Some key features for the Canon PowerShot A3100 IS:
-12.1 megapixel image sensor
-4x optical zoom lens (35-140mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-2.7″ LCD screen

Some key features for the Canon PIXMA MX350:
-Able to print, scan, copy and Super G3 fax

-Wireless connectivity
-Print resolution up to 4800 x 1200 dpi

Printer Comparison ends up giving the Canon PIXMA MX350 an overall score of 3 out of 5 stars. The MX350 is able to make good prints and it is easy to use. The PIXMA is a good printer, but it does not really fit an office environment and it seems like it would be better off for a home office.

CNET UK has tested the Canon EOS Rebel T2i (also known as Canon EOS 550D) DSLR camera. This entry level DSLR from Canon can sport an impressive 18 megapixels, a large LCD screen and ability to record HD movies. It is interesting to see what the quality is on pictures produced from such a massive sensor.

Some key features for the Canon EOS Rebel T2i / Canon EOS 550D:
-18 megapixel image sensor
-3″ LCD screen
-ISO sensitivity 100-12800
-Records full HD movies, 1920 x 1080
-Supports SDXC memory cards
-Size 129 x 97 x 62 mm
-Weighs 530 g

CNET UK ends up giving the Canon EOS 550D a very good rating with an overall score of 8.8 points out of 10. The reviewer really likes the HD movie mode and ISO performance is excellent. The Canon camera also has a great design and menu system. There are not many negative points with the 550D, but the detail in the pictures could be better and the kit lens is not all that good. It seems like Canon has produced another winner camera with the 550D/Rebel T2i, but quality comes with a bit high price tag.

Canon Powershot SD3500 IS / Canon Digital IXUS 210

Photography Blog has reviewed the new Canon Powershot SD3500 IS (also know as Canon Digital IXUS 210) digital compact camera. This camera from Canon has an enormous LCD with touchscreen abilities. It also has 14 megapixels and a wide angle zoom lens.

Some key features for the Canon Powershot SD3500 IS / Canon Digital IXUS 210:
-3.5″ touchscreen LCD with 460k resolution
-14.1 megapixel image sensor
-5x optical zoom lens (24-120mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-Able to shoot 720p HD movies
-HDMI output

Photography Blog ends up giving the Canon Powershot SD3500 IS a pretty mediocre rating with an overall score of 3.5 stars, “Above Average”. The camera scores highest on design while scoring a little lower on features and ease of use. It scores lowest on image quality and value for your hard earned money. The reviewer find the touchscreen to be really nice, but the price tag is very high for a compact camera in this class and when the image quality has not improved from earlier models you really need to love touchscreen (there is no other way to control the camera) to invest in this camera.
