Nikon announces Nikon Coolpix L24 entry level camera

Nikon has announced a new budget camera called Nikon Coolpix L24 that is targeted at entry level photographers. The L24 will have 14 megapixels, a 3.6x optical zoom lens (37mm wide-angle, 134mm telephoto), 3″ LCD screen, able to use ISO 1600 and Easy Auto Mode.

The Nikon Coolpix L24 will be launched in February 2011, cost about $120 and be available in red, black and silver.

Trusted Review has tested an inkjet printer from HP. The printer is called HP Deskjet 3000 and HP claim it is able to print up to 20 pages per minute and wireless printing.

Some key features for the HP Deskjet 3000 printer:
-Print speeds up to 20 pages per minute in black and 16 pages per minute in color
-Color LCD screen
-Automatic duplexing
-Auto Document Feeder (ADF)
-Wireless connectivity

Printer Comparison ends giving the Deskjet 3000 an overall score of 7 out of 10 possible points. The printer scores highest on print speeds and value, a little lower on features and lowest on print quality. If it wasn’t for the lower than average quality of prints the HP would have scored higher. Let us hope HP works more on print quality with their next printer in this line.

Some key features for the Nikon Speedlight SB-900:
-Guide Number: 157.5 feet (48m) at ISO 200
-360 degrees tilt / swivel
-Recycle time 2.3 – 4.5 seconds
-4 wireless channel options

About.com ends up giving the SB-900 a good review with an overall score of 4 out of 5 possible stars. It is a very good flashgun that covers most needs that a photographer should have, but it is heavy and expensive. If you are not a professional photographer you might look at a cheaper model like the Nikon SB-700 or flashguns from other brands.

OKI B730n monochrome LED printer test / review by Printer Comparison

Printer Comparison has tested a fast monochrome LED printer from OKI. The printer is called OKI B730n and is able to print up to 52 pages per minute, or so OKI claims.

Some key features for the OKI B730n:
-Print speeds up to 52 pages per minute
-Print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi
-150-sheet input tray and 550-sheet input tray
-USB, Ethernet and Parallel ports connectivity

Printer Comparison ends up giving the B730n e good review with an overall score of 4 stars out of 5 possible. On the positive side the reviewer finds aspects such as fast print speeds and high monthly duty cycle. On the other hand this LED printer comes with a pretty high price tag so if you are on a tight budget this OKI printer might not be your choice. If you run a bigger office that needs a fast monochrome printer this OKI might be your choice.
