Printer Comparison has reviewed an AIO photo printer from Canon. The Canon printer is called Canon PIXMA MG5220 and is able to print a borderless 4″ x 6″ photo in approx. 20 seconds or so Canon claims.

Some key features for the Canon PIXMA MG5220:
-Able to scan, copy and print
-Print resolution up to 9600 x 2400 dpi
-Print speeds up to 11 ipm in black and 9.3 ipm in color
-Built-in 2-sided printing
-Borderless 4″ x 6″ photo in approx. 20 seconds

Printer Comparison ends up giving the Canon PIXMA MG5220 an overall rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 possible. The printer scores highest on features, almost as high on print speeds, print quality and service while scoring lowest on operational costs. The reviewer likes that the MG5220 is able to make prints of good quality both as text and photo, that the printer uses little energy and that it has tons of features and good software. On the negative side we find the printer to take long print pauses and it is pretty expensive to change the ink cartridges.

Camera Labs has reviewed a budget compact digital camera from Panasonic. The camera is called Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 (and Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS5 in some markets) and has 12 megapixels, 12x optical zoom and the ability to record video.

Some key features for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 / ZS5:
-12.1 megapixel image sensor
-12x optical zoom lens (25-300mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-2.7″ LCD screen
-Sonic Speed AF system

Camera Labs ends up giving the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 / Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS5 a “Highly Recommended” rating with an overall score at 85%. The Panasonic camera scores highest on specifications and build quality, a little lower on value for your money and lowest on image quality and handling. The reviewer likes aspects of the camera such as manual controls, very good image stabilization, quiet video zooming and good battery life. On the negative side we find that the video microphone is susceptible for wind noise, no video button and limited continuous shooting. Overall the TZ8 seems like a good budget compact from Panasonic.

Photography Blog has reviewed a new digital camera from Samsung. The camera is called Samsung ST5500 (or Samsung CL80 in some markets) and has an enormous 3.7″ AMOLED touch-screen combined with 14 megapixels.

Some key features for the Samsung ST5500 / Samsung CL80:
-14.2 megapixel image sensor
-7x optical zoom lens (31-217mm)
-Optical image stabilization
-3.7″ AMOLED touch-screen
-720p HD video
-Wi-Fi connectivity

Photography Blog ends up giving the Samsung ST5500 “Highly Recommended” rating with an overall score of 4.5 out of 5 stars. The Samsung camera scores highest on ease of use, design and features while scoring a litter lower on image quality and lowest on value for your money. The reviewer finds the AMOLED screen to be one of the best screens on the market. This combined with many useful features makes the ST5500 to be a very attractive camera. Kudos to Samsung for being an innovative camera makers among many boring compact cameras.

Epson B-510DN Business Color inkjet printer test / review by PC World

PC World has reviewed a business inkjet printer from Epson. The printer is called Epson B-510DN and is able to print color prints for as low as 4 cents in ink costs, or so Epson claims.

Some key features for the Epson B-510DN Business Color inkjet printer:
-150-sheet paper feeder
-Ink costs as low as 4 cents per color page
-Monthly duty cycle of 20,000 pages
-Automatic two-sided printing

PC World finds the Epson B-510DN to be a good inkjet printer for businesses. It has very low printing costs and the printing speeds are pretty good. The print quality is also good so this inkjet printer should be a good choice even if you are thinking about buying a low-end laser printer for your business.
