Digital Camera Review has tested a regular camcorder from Samsung. The camcorder is called Samsung SMX-C20 (the Samsung SMX-C24 is also mentioned in the review as it essentially is the same camcorder) and has a special lens that is positioned at an angle making it more natural to film.

Some key features for the Samsung SMX-C20:
-10x optical zoom lens
-2.7″ LCD screen
-2.5 Hours Battery Recording
-25 degree active angle lens
-Uses SD or SDHC memory cards

Digital Camera Review ends up giving the Samsung SMX-C20 an overall score of 3 out of 5 possible stars. On the positive side we find ergonomic handling and the time lapse feature. On the negative side there are points such as that you do not have HD video, the buttons feel cheap and no external audio jack. The Samsung camcorder scores highest on features, design and ease of use, scoring a little lower on performance and scoring lowest on image quality and video quality. Overall this seems like a good camcorder, but it is worth looking at HD camcorders which seems to be taking over the camcorder market.

Photography Blog has fast become one of my favorite websites for camera reviews. This time they have reviewed a Casio camera called Casio EX-FH25 that has some very nice features such a back-lit image sensor and 20x optical zoom range that is pretty wide at the widest end of the range.

Some key features for the Casio EX-FH25:
-10.1 megapixel image sensor
-20x optical zoom lens (26-520mm)
-Image stabilization
-3″ LCD screen
-86MB built in memory
-30 frames per second continuous shooting
-High-speed film recording up to 1000fps

Photography Blog ends up giving the Casio EX-FH25 a “Above Average” rating with a total score of 3.5 stars out of 5 possible. The Casio camera scores highest on ease of use and image quality, scoring a little lower on design and features while scoring lowest on value for your money. The FH25 is a good camera, but it comes with a price tag so if you do not need high-speed video recording and extremely high FPS maybe you should try out other cameras in the same class but with a lower price.

Camera Labs has reviewed a budget compact camera from Nikon called Nikon COOLPIX L22. This Nikon camera comes at a very low price but comes with nice specifications such as 12 megapixels, a large 3″ LCD screen and video recording mode.

Some key features for the Nikon COOLPIX L22:
-12.1 megapixel image sensor
-3.6x optical zoom lens (37-134mm)
-3.0″ LCD screen
-Able to capture 640 x 480 movies with sound at 30fps
-Image stabilization
-Smart Portrait System

Camera Labs ends up giving the Nikon COOLPIX L22 a “Recommended” rating with an overall score at 82%. The Nikon camera scores highest on value for your money, a little lower on specifications and build quality while scoring lowest on image quality and handling. Since the camera comes at a very low price tag it gets a lot of bonus points for being affordable, but there are some downsides like poor performance in low lights, the stabilization is not working very well and the face detection does not always work. If you are looking for a cheap compact camera the L22 might be your choice.
