Olympus Zuiko 14-35mm f/2.0

Digitalcamerareview.com has reviewed the Olympus Zuiko 14-35mm (equivalent to 28mm to 70mm) f/2.0 Digital ED SWD lens. This is the first standard zoom lens that features a constant f/2.0 aperture. At about $2,600 this lens is part of Olympus’ Super High Grade (SHG) range of professional lenses with, among other features, weather sealing, SWD (Supersonic Wave Drive) focusing system and high quality optics.

Digitalcamerareview.com ends up giving the Olympus Zuiko 14-35mm lens, unsurprisingly, a very good rating due to the lens’ excellent image quality, silky smooth and silent focusing motor and sharp wide open. The small cons are of course the hefty price and pretty bulky size of the lens.
Seems like an excellent lens for professional Four Thirds photographers.

Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm

Dpreview has reviewed the Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 lens which is Olympus standard kit lens with its entry level DSLR cameras like the E-510 and E-410. Olympus got a very good reputation for making very good kit lenses so it is interesting what the reviewer will think of the the 14-42mm.

Dpreview ends up giving the lens a “Recommended” rating due to small and light size and very good image quality. A minor con is some chromatic aberration wide open at the telephoto end.
Seems like Olympus has made an excellent kit lens.

Nikon D60

Diwa Labs has tested the new DSLR camera from Nikon, the D60, with the AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens. The lens seems to be pretty good except for some vignetting and the D60 camera seems also to perform very well.

Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm

Dpreview has reviewed the new Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 SWD lens. This lens is a part of Olympus’ pro line up and should be a of good quality.

Dpreview ends up giving the Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 SWD lens a “Highly Recommended” rating due to the lens’ excellent optics, useful wide-angle range and very good build quality. The downsides are some distortion at the widest angle and a hefty price tag.
All in all this seems like a very good “standard zoom” lens for the Four Thirds system.
