The German photo equipment testing website Photozone.de have reviewed a ultra wide lens from Canon, the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens. They used the new15 megapixel Canon EOS 50D DSLR camera for testing to see how the lens hold its own with such high resolution

Photozone ends up giving the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens a pretty good verdict as the lens is able to produce good pictures even with such a high resolution camera. The only problems are bit of vignetting at wide open aperture and the price is very high (about $650) compared to the third party competition lenses, but you often get what you pay for when it comes to optics. Overall it seems like a pretty good ultra wide lens for Canon mount.
