Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD

Epson today has announced a new wireless All-in-One printer called Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD. The printer is able to print, scan, copy and fax, and has a large 19.8cm smart-navigation touch-panel. Read the press release from Epson below for more information.

The Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD is a wireless all-in-one with a premium feature set.

18th August, 2010 – Epson® launches the Epson Stylus Photo PX820FWD – the flagship wireless model of its extensive consumer inkjet range. This all-in-one printer comes fully loaded with features, including the latest high speed Wi-Fi, automatic document feeder and double-sided printing, and can print, scan and copy in high definition. With a contemporary look and feel, it’s designed to fit easily into any modern home. The PX820FWD is available from 1st September 2010.

The PX820FWD has a smart-navigation touch-panel with integrated touch-screen that puts all its functionality at the user’s fingertips and enables photos to be printed quickly and directly from memory cards and PictBridge™-enabled cameras. Sharing printing, scanning and faxing with everyone in the household is simple thanks to integrated wireless and Ethernet connectivity.

Users can print high definition, better-than-lab-quality photos with Epson Claria Photographic Ink – a dye-based ink which delivers vivid, long-lasting prints. Switching between printing photos and documents couldn’t be easier with the PX820FWD’s auto-select function, which automatically selects the right paper for the job from a choice of plain paper or photo paper.

Epson PictureMate Show

Epson PictureMate Show is a photo printer from Epson that has a large display that can be used as a photo frame. Seems like a pretty good idea, but let us hear what the reviewer at Printer Comparison thinks about this Epson printer that is supposed to be able to print photos in 37 seconds.

Printer Comparison ends up giving the Epson PictureMate Show an overall score of 4 out of 5 possible stars. On the positive side we find the printer to make photo prints of excellent quality, the photo frame is useful and the print speeds are good. On the negative side there are aspects such as high price tag and you can not really print many different media types with this printer. The Epson printer scores highest on performance, print speeds, features, print quality and ease of use while it scores a bit lower on operational costs and service. Overall the PictureMate Show seems like a good choice if you are interested in a photo printer that also let you show off your pictures in a photo frame.

Epson WorkForce 520

Printer Comparison is famous for their good reviews and this time they have reviewed an Epson printer. The inkjet printer is called Epson WorkForce 520 and is able to print, scan, copy and high speed faxing.

Printer Comparison ends up giving the Epson WorkForce 520 an overall score of 3 out of 5 possible stars. The Epson printer scores highest on performance, print quality and print speeds, a little lower on features, operational costs, design, ease of use and support.
There are some good points with the 520 like fast printing speeds, good quality of text prints and it does not use much energy. On the negative side we find aspects such as no front USB and if you get an error while printing you must turn off the printer to get it working again.

Epson B-510DN

PC World has reviewed a business inkjet printer from Epson. The printer is called Epson B-510DN and is able to print color prints for as low as 4 cents in ink costs, or so Epson claims.

-Ink costs as low as 4 cents per color page
-Monthly duty cycle of 20,000 pages
-Automatic two-sided printing

PC World finds the Epson B-510DN to be a good inkjet printer for businesses. It has very low printing costs and the printing speeds are pretty good. The print quality is also good so this inkjet printer should be a good choice even if you are thinking about buying a low-end laser printer for your business.
