Photography Blog has reviewed a travel-zoom camera from Nikon. The camera is called Nikon Coolpix S9100 and features a nice wide angle zoom lens that starts at 25mm. It also has a 12 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor.

-18x optical zoom lens (25-450mm)
-3″ LCD screen
-Full HD 1080p video
-Sensor-shift Vibration Reduction
-In-camera HDR imaging

Photography Blog ends up giving the Coolpix S9100 a “Highly Recommended” rating with an overall score of 4.5 out of 5 possible stars. The Nikon camera scores highest on value for your money, design and features, and a little lower on image quality and ease of use. If you are looking for a travel zoom camera this one from Nikon is one of the best in this marked segment. One negative side that more serious photographers might miss is the lack of manual controls.

Photography Blog has reviewed a new digital compact camera from Nikon with an incredible zoom range. The optical zoom lens starts at 22.5mm and ends at 810mm so it should fit most of your zooming needs. The camera is called Nikon Coolpix P500 and also has a nice tiltable LCD screen.

-12.1 megapixel image sensor
-36x optical zoom lens (22.5-810mm)
-5-way VR Image Stabilization System
-3″ tiltable LCD screen
-Full HD 1080p video recording
-ISO sensitivity from 160 to 3200

Photography Blog ends up giving the P500 a “Recommended” rating and an overall score of 4 out of 5 possible stars. The Nikon camera scores highest on features, a little bit lower on design and ease of use, while it scores lowest on image quality and value for your money. The Nikon ultrazoom handles much like a DSLR camera and has many DSLR style features. The P500 is a good camera, but Nikon could have worked a bit more on the image quality and added support for RAW-format.

Photography Blog has tested a new compact camera from Nikon that is targeted at enthusiast photographers. The camera is called Nikon Coolpix P300 and features a bright wide angle zoom lens that starts at 24mm and full HD movie recording.

Some key features for the Nikon Coolpix P300:
-12.2 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor
-4.2x optical zoom lens that starts at f/1.8 (24-100mm)
-3-inch 920,000-dot LCD scree
-ISO sensitivity from 160 to 3200
-Full HD 1080p video

Photography Blog ends up giving the P300 a “Recommended” rating and an overall score of 4 out of 5 possible stars. The Nikon camera scores highest on features and value for your money, while it scores a little lower on image quality, ease of use and design. This Coolpix camera has many nice features, but it lacks a few to be the perfect camera for enthusiast photographers including the lack of RAW-files, smaller sensor and the design could have been better. It is still a good compact camera especially if you look at the price tag.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G is an interesting prime lens that is very fast with its f/1.4 and an interesting focal length at 35mm. The lens uses Nano Crystal Coat to reduce flare and it has Silent Wave Motor for fast and silent autofocus. The website Photography Blog has now reviewed this Nikon Lens.

Photography Blog ends up giving the Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G a “Highly Recommended” rating with an overall score of 4.5 stars out of 5 possible. The lens gets a perfect score on design, image quality and features, a bit lower on ease of use while it scores lowest on value for your money. The Nikkor lens gets you pictures of excellent quality so if you got the money to spend and want a fast prime lens this might be your choice for Nikon DSLR cameras.
