SLR Gear has testes an interesting macro lens from Sigma. The lens is called Sigma 28mm f/1.8 EX DG Aspherical Macro and is able to photograph at a very wide aperture.

SLR Gear ends up giving the a good review especially if you are using the lens on full frame DSLR camera. The lens does not offer the best sharpness and corner shading wide open, but it is better when used on a full frame camera.

The Tokina AT-X 16-28mm F2.8 Pro FX is a nice zoom lens with a fast and constant aperture at F2.8. This Tokina lens is designed for full frame DSLR camera from Canon and Nikon, like the Nikon D700 and Canon EOS 5D Mark II. The lens comes with a new silent motor and a new faster autofocus sensor. Let us hear what Photography Blog has to say about this professional lens from Tokina.

Photography Blog ends up giving the Tokina AT-X 16-28mm F2.8 Pro FX a “Recommended” rating with an overall score of 4 out of 5 possible stars. The lens scores highest on design and image quality, and a little lower on features, ease of use and value for your money. For such a wide angle lens it produces excellent pictures and the auto focus is good, but the Tokina lens is heavy and costly. It also lacks image stabilization which can be a negative point for some photographers.

SLR Gear has reviewed a 3D lens from Panasonic that is designed for the Micro Four Thirds system. The lens is called Panasonic 12.5mm f/12 Lumix G 3D and gives you the opportunity to take 3D-photos. It has two optical systems installed within the diameter of the lens mount that will create a stereo image. Let us hear what the website thinks about this Panasonic lens.

SLR Gear ends up giving the Panasonic 12.5mm f/12 Lumix G 3D a good review, but there are some shortcoming. Since the lens is f/12 you need a lot of light to take 3D pictures. You also need a big 3D TV and 3D glasses to really enjoy the photos that this lens produces. If you are into 3D-photography and are a Micro Four Thirds photographer this should be the lens for you, especially if you look at the reasonable price tag.

When it comes to macro lenses for the Micro Four Thirds there are not many choices, but Panasonic has now released a 45 macro lens called Panasonic LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm F2.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. The Panasonic lens comes at pretty high price tag (about $899.99 in USA) so it is interesting to see if Photography Blog, who have reviewed the lens, think it is worth that price.

Photography Blog ends up giving the 45mm macro lens a very good review with a “Highly Recommended” rating and an overall score of 4.5 stars out of 5 possible. The lens scores highest on design, features, image quality and ease of use while it scores a little lower on value for your money. If you are a Micro Four Thirds photographer and are interested in a high quality macro lens this is definitely your choice. Let us hope that the price will go down a bit and that we will get more macro lenses for this format in the future.

Photography Blog has reviewed a superzoom lens from Panasonic that should be interesting for many Micro Four Thirds users. The lens is very good for recording videos as it has high speed focusing and is very silent. You can buy the lens alone and it comes as a kit with the GH2 and GH1 cameras from Panasonic.

The website ends up giving the Panasonic lens a very good review with a “Highly Recommended” rating and an overall score of 4.5 stars out of 5 possible. The Lumix lens scores highest on ease of use, design and features, a little lower in image quality while it scores lowest on value for your money. The lens is pretty expensive and heavy compared to a similar Micro Four Thirds lens from Olympus, but if you own the GH1 or GH2 and are interested in recording videos this Panasonic lens should be your choice as it has incredibly fast focus and its optics are good.

The Micro Four Thirds system keeps expanding the number of available lenses. Panasonic has now released a fisheye lens called Panasonic LUMIX G FISHEYE 8mm F3.5. The Lumix lens is able to focus as close as 10 cm and is built up of ten lenses in nine groups. The fisheye gives us a diagonal angle of view of 180 degrees giving your pictures the unique fisheye look. But it comes at a high price as it cost about $800 on the US market.

Photography Blog ends up giving the Panasonic lens a good review with a “Recommended” rating and an overall score of 4 out of 5 possible stars. The lens scores highest on design where it gets a perfect score, a little lower on image quality, ease of use and features while it scores lower on value for your money. The lens is very small and has a great build design. It is also able to capture awesome pictures and the focus system is fast. The biggest shortcoming for this Panasonic lens is the high price tag, but if you have the money and want a Micro Four Thirds fisheye this is a must have for you.
